Dear Members,

Its AGM time again. Even though it is supposed to be a non election year, the excitement and fever is already on, especially as we are doing things a little differently this time around. Though planned for March, we had to do a little date shift to accommodate the majority of  the members  to be around for our very

important AGM. We also decided to hold a family day at the same time; to suite everyone SO please keep aside the afternoon of the 15th of April 2006. You would be able to bring along your immediate family members. While you enjoy and learn about financial planning from our excellent speaker, your family members and children would be enjoying themselves. The children have a coloring contest and the young adults have a treasure hunt through Mega Mall. All details are enclosed further on.

Our speaker for that afternoon is Dr. Gunananthan, a tall dark and handsome certified financial planner. Not a medical doctor, but a doctor of finance. He has come highly recommended; especially when I had placed such strict guidelines to finding just the right kind of speaker I wanted for that afternoon – has to speak well, simple English, a sense of humor and puts things in a simple way!! I have come to know Dr. Guna over the last few weeks, and I can assure you he has all these qualities.

Thank you Schering, for being the secretariat for this event! I have placed a big load on Ms. Khong who is going to do all the answering of calls when you register. Please bear with us that we need to ask you more info when you do call, especially if there are participants for the Family Day.

As usual, I cannot do all this on my own and I have been assisted so far by my wonderful team of Dr. Tan Ay Eeng and Puan Lim Ai Loon. The Family Day is organized by the MMS with the help of the strong team of Merck Sdn. Bhd..

Before I end, just a few things you need to know:

a) Where do you register?
Call Ms. Khong at 03-79551366. We need to know your contact details, the number of members attending, whether you are bringing along any family members and the ages of the children who would be coming.

b) Where is the Boulevard Hotel?
This is the new hotel attached to the Megamall at the Jaya Jusco side. You can assess this hotel by taxi or the KTM Mid Valley Station. If you are coming by car and planning to park at the very many parking bays of the Mega Mall, use the multi tiered car park (assessable next to the entrance of the hotel) and park and Bay “G” of “H”. You have to then go down to Level “G” (for Gorund) near the Jusco entrance and use the connection to the hotel which is opposite “Bread Talk”. Please remember it is a Saturday. The Mall would be crowded as would the parking bays.

c) What about the Coloring Contest?
This is organized by Merck Sdn Bhd. They are catering for 2 groups of children; aged between 4 and 7 years and between 7 – 10 years. The coloring contest would be held just 2 doors away from where the AGM is to be held; thus members need not fear. The children are just a stone throw away. There would be exciting prizes – for the top 3 of each group and consolation prizes.

d) What about the Treasure Hunt?
This is going to be the most exciting event of all. Three groups would be led by an adult group leader through the Megamall looking for clues. I am not going to give anything away. But we have made it adventurous and the treasure is worth the hunt! Again, this is being organized by Merck Sdn Bhd.

e) What is Free and Easy by MMS Members?
This is your time! I am sure we have so much of untapped talent within our large group and we would love it if you could show us your talent by either singing, dancing comedy etc, etc, You could do this on your won or in a group. The stage is yours, but please bring your own props.

Most importantly, please remember to attend the AGM. The Malaysian Menopause Society is your society. We are just carrying out our duties as designated by you. Please come and give us your valuable guidance and assistance to make this a better and more progressive society that only gets better with time.
