| The 6th Malaysian Congress on Menopause was held at Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur from April 6 – 8, 2007. This year’s theme was ‘The Return of Hormone Therapy’. According to the immediate Past President, Prof. Dr. Nik Mohd Nasri Nik Ismail, this theme was chosen to update the participants in the management of the menopausal women, a field that is expanding and which will continue to be important due to the increased life expectancy of women. To make the scientific sessions interesting, Dr. S Raman, Scientific Chairman, had invited eminent speakers to talk on psychological aspects of menopause as well as medical problems related to ear, nose and throat during menopause. With the combined faculty of both overseas and local speakers, the participants were able to attain sufficient knowledge to manage menopausal issues from a broader aspect. This was useful for the practising clinicians. |
