It was a very nice and memorable trip indeed. That is how I would like to describe the recent trip to Cairo from 24 – 31st December 2005. People who had not met each other before, became close friends by the end of the trip. It was fun and interesting all the way. We became concerned of each other and we cared for the older ones. For RM 3,000 it was worth every cent of it. We were lucky to have 2 wonderful travel agents (Prema and Sarah) who were so flexible and accommodating. Those who went into the pyramids now should be |

During the Asia Pacific Conference on Sexual and Reproductive Health (APCRSH) in November, MMS was involved in a symposium on menopausal health. It was kindly co-sponsored by Wyeth. I would like to record our appreciation. The Conference as a whole was a very successful one. As usual Malaysia would set another standard of organizing an event that would be difficult for others to match.
The issue of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for the menopausal women continues to be an important issue. Women are living longer than before and yet many doctors are denying the HRT to the menopausal women. I believe this is mainly due to the lack of knowledge of the use of estrogens and progestins resulting in many women being discouraged on the use of HRT. It is due to this realization that MMS continue to organize CME programs to update doctors and clarify management issues. I hope as many doctors would try to take the opportunity to attend the CME Seminars now going to various locations. After all, the heavy sponsorship from various pharmaceutical companies have made it possible not to charge the participants. Not only doctors, but the nurses would also benefit from the seminars.
Very soon we are going to have our AGM. Although this is the non-election year, I hope all of you would come to the function which would also serve as a Family Day with many events and prizes. Please read the advertisement on this matter and mark the date. After all it will be held near the Mega Mall i.e. at the newly opened Boulevard Hotel. The organizers intend to make this half day event a memorable one. So your attendance is very crucial to ensure its success.
Lastly, I hope members would update your subscription, addresses and contact numbers to ensure continuing correspondence with the secretariat. Take care of your loved ones always.
