A Message from the President

Dear Members,

By the time you receive this issue of Berita Menopos it would be mid-year. Time certainly flies especially if you are kept busy. Some MMS members have been participating in our many activities – from the lowlands of the Klang Valley to the cool pleasant Highlands of Genting. Let me now welcome all new MMS members and I hope you will try to attend our upcoming activities to join in the fun.

I wonder how many of you have taken the trouble to log on to MMS website recently. Well, to those who have religiously logged on to the Internet to view updates of MMS activities, I‘m sure you are excited about our new feature – the PHOTO GALLERY!

What I am pleased is that all of you who have been attending our many activities can now not just view lovely snapshots of yourself in action but also instantly download, print or email
them to whoever you choose to, with a click and in the comfort of your own home. Without knowing it, you are now a star!

I am going to zoom in to some important events in our calendar that saw many of you attending in full force, interacting and benefiting from each other during every event. The first was the 13th AGM where more than 70 excited bubbly members attended punctually. They had earlier attended a full-day extremely interesting, thrilling, exciting and mesmerising Empowerment Seminar.

The positive feedback we got was that it was an “awesome, beneficial, stimulating, touching
(many shed tears), awakening (“it was a wake-up call for me”, said one member) event. A male MMS member even commented, “I began to see women differently”, indicating he now could appreciate women better. One EXCO member provided an exceptionally splendid feedback that it was “the first time I had attended such a meaningful full-day seminar that touched me deeply. I actually cried listening to the speaker, Mrs Jagjeet. I want to take the Speaker to Kelantan to let the doctors listen to her and get motivated so that they too can benefit the way I have been touched.”

From the lush verdant ambience of Tropicana where the Empowerment workshop took place, MMS members packed themselves in an air-con coach to ascend to the Pedas Springs Spa on 23 April 2010, at First World Plaza, Genting Highlands. After a hearty fruity buffet breakfast, members excitedly moved from one relaxing free aroma body massage to another invigorating activity be it the jacuzzi, foot steam, manicure, henna tattoo or reflexology.

Our next adventure was where 45 MMS members were introduced to real jungle-trekking for 3 days at the famed award-winning YTL Pangkor Laut Resort from 28-30 May 2010. It was the first time such a big group was trekking together as one happy family and there were many exciting stories to be told from the time spent together. Read more about it in our next issue!

The number 10 is significant for MMS because on 10.10.10, we will celebrate World Menopause day in Tropicana with a slightly different approach. In line with our usual approach so far, there will be 3 main meals provided. Not only that, in response to popular demand for a second Empowerment Seminar, Mrs J will be starting and ending the day by empowering you further.

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and as always, Joie de vivre, menopause with zest!

With Best Wishes,
